The aim of the college has always been quality childcare education. We have a high standard as children are very special and deserve the best. We believe that each person is an individual and is treated as such. Many students have commented that they like the college because they are treated like a person and not a student number.

We have EDTP seta accreditation for a National Child care certificate in ECD. This is with SAQA.

The students are evaluated in many ways. They are marked on their theory, creative and practical work. There is also a mark allocation for assignments and exams. There are four levels of certificates.

PASSING CRITERIA

The student must attend 80% of lectures and practical
Hand in all assignments
Achieve a 50% overall mark and 80% for first aid
Have a positive practical report
All fees must have been paid in full

CONCLUSION

We encourage students to aim for a distinction or merit as this increases their value in the job market. The college is a place were the more you put in the more you get out for yourself.

COURSE OFFERINGS

AU PAIR

Provide students with the nescessary skills to make their overseas adventure, a wonderful experience

ADVANCED INFANT COURSE

Equip students with the skills necessary to work with infants and toddlers aged 0 - 3 years

BASIC COUNCELING

This is an outstanding course which is accredited by the Counsel of counselors

BASIC CHILDCARE

Provide students with the knowledge and skills to work as a Professional Nanny or as an educator for children 0 - 3 years in a crèche or playgroup environment

CRECHE ASSITANT

Provide students who don't have a matric qualification to work in a crèche

DOMESTIC WORKERS

This course aims to give domestic workers a basic understanding of childcare and development. Run over 3 Saturdays from 9:00 - 15:00

EARLY CHILDWOOD EDUCATOR

This is a great course with lots of information and workshops. It involves one Saturday and the rest of the course is done on a distance learning basis

GRADE 0 SPECIALISATION

This is a great course with lots of information and workshops. It involves one Saturday a month and the rest of the course is done on a distance learning basis

NURSERY SCHOOL

Aims to extend the basic childcare knowledge and to equip students to work in a nursery school with children aged 3 - 6

BARRIERS TO LEARNING

This involves the specific pathology or disability and concentrates on the specific needs of the child arising from such conditions.

VOCATIONAL MATRICUTIONAL

A matriculation course for students who wish to enter the fields of teaching, nursing or social work
